From Inspiration To Reality

Audrey's Interiors Harwich Ma Condo Renovation

Condo Renovation

Harwich, Ma

Objective: To create an updated seaside weekend retreat for a busy family.  To take this tired 1980s condo into the present day without breaking the bank.  To create spaces that would complement each other throughout.

The clients knew they wanted a seaside feel to the condo without it being kitchy.  The three teenage daughters had been scouring color books, magazines, and HDTV in order to be able to describe the elements in color and feel that they were interested in. By using color, texture and patterns that resembled their desires, we were happy to be able to give them their “big reveal” moment, which was captured on video!  Both parents and kids were ecstatic!

Condo Renovation

Brewster, Ma

Objective: To take this circa 1980 condo to the present.

This condo was in need of a complete renovation in order  for the client to put it on the market. The pink walls and mauve carpets had to go! We selected a lovely soothing updated palette that would  provide a neutral background without being boring.  The old kitchen and vanity cabinets were spruced up  with fresh paint, granite counter tops, new sinks, hardware and faucets. Cortex flooring through the dining area  and living room and fresh carpet throughout the 2nd floor along with newly tiled bathroom floors completed the project. Staging the condo for sale was the last piece of the puzzle.

Bring on the Color

Yarmouth Port, Ma

Objective: To create a warm and welcoming second

home by honoring the integrity of the old style colonial

framework while infusing a casual and comfortable

atmosphere.

Our goal was to create spaces that are unique, yet warm  and inviting, without being stuffy. My clients requested lots  of color, no beige for these homeowners.

This home was updated with a fresh look using comfy

custom furnishings,a stunning colorful living room

area rug, bright beautiful bed linens, window treatments

and lighting. Scouring estate and yard sales produced

some lovely antique pieces that were incorporated throughout.

Family Friendly Cape Makeover

Hyannis Port, Ma

Objective: This sweet Cape utilized for generations of

summertime gatherings was in need of updating from

My clients had just retired full time to this family home and it was

time to make it their own. The objective was to create a space that was bright, casual, welcoming and in keeping with the colonial style

of the home.We repurposed many of the original pieces of furniture

that had been passed down through the generations while

incorporating new comfortable seating options. My client’s

favorite color is blue, hence various shades of blue were

introduced as the thread throughout.

Bathroom Makeover

Objective: After the pipes burst and severe water damage occurred in this bath, it was time for a makeover.

We were brought in to design the space with the objectives of creating a spa like feel to the room while incorporating a new tiled shower unit, replacing the old Jacuzzi tub with a lovely free

standing soaking tub, and adding a wall of custom cabinetry to  increase storage. Radiant heat under the new tile floor allows for  warm feet on cold days. Creating a small alcove for the toilet

provides a sense of privacy without closing off the space entirely.

Living Room Makeover

Chatham, Ma

Objective: To cozy up the long narrow living room.  To provide 2 separate seating areas, one for conversation and fireplace enjoyment and one for viewing the television.  Another objective was to have the bay window make a statement from the front entry of the home.

We achieved these objectives by adding two small chairs to the client's sitting area which complemented their two love seats moved in from a former home. We had custom draperies fabricated out of a glorious material for the bay window which have an embroidered zig zag pattern that evokes the water.  We also added a lovely console table and a custom covered bench seat to the bay window area which gives the bay some weight and also allows for easily movable extra seating in the room.  The view from the front entrance went from bland to beautiful with the bay window as a centerpiece not only for the living room but for the entrance as well.

Living Room Makeover

Eastham, Ma

Objective: This living room needed some attention with regard to the furnishings, seating, fireplace mantel and tv placement. The goal was to add seating that allowed for good conversation, as well as good tv viewing and a comfortable chair for reading and relaxing.

The fireplace wall was prime real estate, not being utilized well. By creating a wall of built-ins for the TV and adding bookcases we were able to tie the fireplace, windows and wall together for a much more cohesive aesthetic . Building the TV into the mantle created not only the perfect viewing opportunity but also gave us the space we needed for a sectional, side tables and lighting.  The color palette for the room was inspired by a braided rug the client had previously made for another room. She wanted an upscale beachy feel without the kitchiness of seashells and sailboats. By using beautiful seaside colored fabrics with a lot of texture we were able to create a room that is both welcoming and pretty. We also were able to add storage both with the built-ins, and the custom ottomans that open from the top. By using two ottomans instead of one, it gives the client more versatility with regard to moving the pieces around the room as needed. The custom chair covered in a beautiful Duralee corduroy fabric, adds the perfect touch. It allows for good conversation, fireplace coziness, and a comfy spot for reading. Adding a wool sisal area rug to the dining area warms up the space without overpowering it.

Kitchen & Bath Makeover

Sandwich, Cape Cod

Objective: To update this dark and dated kitchen without replacing the cabinetry. To create solutions for storage in a bath off the kitchen that has multiple uses: a laundry room, mud room, and bathroom all in one.

We took this dark and dated kitchen to new heights by: painting out the cabinets, replacing the Formica counter tops with a beautiful quartz, adding a tumbled marble subway tile for a backsplash, replacing the blue tiled floor with a 12” porcelain tile laid on the diagonal, adding pendant lighting over the island, replacing the counter stools, and updating the stove and sink. The bathroom/laundry/mudroom was given a new life by: replacing the blue wall tile with beadboard, removing the existing vanity and adding a pedestal sink and sconce lighting, and having a custom cabinet built to house shoes on the bottom, and toiletries on the top. These two spaces went from dark and dated, to bright and beautiful with minimal interruption of this busy families life.

Extreme Home Makeover

Harwich, Cape Cod

Objective: To turn this summer rental property into a year round home. This house was purchased by my clients a year before they retained us to turn this summer rental property into a warm and welcoming home. After living in the house for a year with someone else’s furnishings, white walls, and rental personality, it was time for a complete makeover.

The objective was to add some color, warmth, and style to this barren landscape. This was a super fun project as our clients were going to be on vacation for the 3 weeks that it took us to transform this house into a home. Prior to their departure, we formed a bond of trust, made our selections, and with their blessing, went to work.  Painting the entire house, adding some new furniture and repurposing other pieces, updating the window treatments, creating an amazing gallery wall of family photos, giving the kitchen a facelift without tearing out the cabinets, and paying close attention to the details were all it took to give the clients a home that reflects who they are and the way they live.

To give it a boutique hotel feel without breaking the bank.

A custom pottery lanp and an antique drop leaf table were

moved from another location in the house to create a new

bedside table.  Floor length draperies on the windows create

a cozy yet sophisticated feel.  Fresh accessories on the bureau

add color and complete this serene sleeping oasis.

Condo Renovation

Brewster, Cape Cod

Objective: to prepare home for sale.

The house, circa 1952, sits on a remarkable waterfront property on the bay in Brewster.  This two bedroom Cape with an unfinished attic was in need of updating.   The owners requested a "Cottage Beach House" feel.

My vision was to set the stage for potential buyers; to help them imagine a summer of fun on the beach, long sun kissed days spent walking the Brewster flats, a house of relaxation.  My first step was moving out an abundance of existing furniture, to create some much needed space in the home. Next, a whitewash on the dark pine paneling in the den and the pink paneling in the bathroom created an instant transformation, from dark and dreary to light and bright.  I saved pieces of furniture I could repurpose, and by painting & distressing I was able to bring in punches of unexpected color.  Contemporary living room furniture pieces were added to show how the room could be set up to maximize the space & the amazing view.  Long forgotten antiques from the attic and garage were given a new life, redisplayed against a fresh backdrop, along with some fun new accessories.  I tried to emphasize the small details throughout the house.  I carried the color coral through the house to create cohesiveness. The dark bookcases that i couldn't paint helps to set off the all white accessories.  I grouped the family ancestors' water color paintings in one room & vintage Brewster postcards on the antique writing desk in another.  New plants brought life and color to both the inside & outside. The decision to stage this house for sale by the buyers proved to be a valuable one.  Within a week of listing the house an offer is on the table.   Potential buyers can see themselves enjoying this special gem on the beach

Color Consultation

Harwich, Cape Cod

Objective: After living with white walls for 8 years, the clients decided they needed some color in their life!  The challenge was to select colors that worked harmoniously side by side, as the rooms  opened into each other.

I met with the clients in their home, and discussed their color preferences and how they wanted thier home to feel.  Color selections were made based on their beautiful furnishings.  I supplied them with color samples for each room, to test our choices.

Within a week they had arranged for painters and were soon delighted to be living in color
